Adria Arch

Antler 6, placed at The Work PlaceAdria Arch is a painter, mixed media artist, teacher and arts administrator. Adria Arch’s paintings focus on the contrast between the accidental flow of materials such as paint drips and sprays and the deliberate placement of lines and marks derived from found sources. A recurring element in her work has been the use of doodle shapes from her son’s notebooks as well as marks she finds or makes up.

Twenty three of her donations have been placed in 18 agencies in the Greater Boston Area in agencies including multiple works selected by committees at The Boston Living Center, Commonwealth Care Alliance, Inc., and Winter Valley Residences.

Serpentine (diptych), placed at Boston Living Center“The Art Connection allows me to share my work with viewers in a very special and meaningful way,” Adria shares. As someone who has taught painting, drawing, and printmaking at Montserrat College of Art, Endicott College, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and the DeCordova Museum of Art, the artist is no stranger to the power that sharing art with others holds.

She recently completed two commissioned site specific murals: at Lesley University’s Porter Square building in Cambridge, MA. She has also recently completed a site specific piece for a streetside gallery at Montserrat College of Art where, coincidentally, they have an Art Connection sister site.
