Make The Art Connection in Your Community

The Art Connection advises organizations in communities across the country who wish to use our model for launching an art donation and placement program. As we document the process and share our successes, we will engage other communities in the The Art Connection concept of "bringing art to life." These communities in turn will provide us with new tools and ideas to better serve our clients in the greater Boston area and beyond.

How about in your community? As of March 2008, The Art Connection began sharing its expertise through the Toolkit, a web-based knowledge resource designed for organizations and individuals interested in building their own art donation program.

The Art Connection in the Capital Region
Already we have helped to launch The Art Connection in the Capital Region, Art Connects New York in New York City, and ARTconnectsLA in Los Angeles!

Art for Healing

We were recently asked if we could faciliate a donation of artwork to a hospital in San Francisco. We were pleased to be able to refer this request to a similar program that's been around for quite some time. Art for Healing collects works of art through donation and places them in a wide range of hospitals, hospices, community clinics, children's centers, retirement homes, and other agencies serving highly diverse, cross-cultural populations throughout the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.

"What would be especially significant about having a work of art donated from the original artist through The Art Connection would be the sense of community it fosters. One of our main objectives at On The Rise is to help women transition from surviving on the streets to living in the community. When women know there is a larger community outside of On The Rise that appreciates their worth as human beings and wants them to experience the culture and opportunities the area has to offer, the support we offer is strengthened. That is a very powerful message." Laura Lambert, Director of Development and Communications, On The Rise
