The Art Connection simplifies the process of donating art to social service and other qualified organizations. It provides a meeting point between donors and recipients without burdening either with excessive detail. Potential recipients are invited to submit an application for art to The Art Connection. The Art Connection’s staff and program committee review the application and (pending approval) arrange an on-site visit to the agency. At the site visit, The Art Connection educates agency staff about the program, potential costs associated with an art placement, and their obligations to the program. A site tour helps to determine if the organization has appropriate space for a permanent installation and helps to set parameters for the number and types of artworks to be considered for placement. A second visit, the placement visit, provides the opportunity for staff and program participants to view a digital portfolio of images of available art works and to select the work they wish to own and display. Legally the donor gives the art directly to the recipient organization, which in turn picks up the work and acknowledges its receipt to the donor. |
