The Art Connection

Like what we do? Want to learn how to bring The Art Connection to your community?

ToolkitWhat is it?
The Toolkit is a set of resources - narrative, tools, and links - designed to help you bring art to your community.

The Art Connection Toolkit includes information about our history, structure, and most importantly, our program. And it provides you with downloadable tools to help you donate artwork, start a similar program, and learn abut how to begin a process such as ours.

Why did we create it?
We created this toolkit because it is a logical extension of our mission to enrich underserved communities by expanding public access to the visual arts. Many cities have a concentration of two groups: emerging and established artists and nonprofit social service organizations committed to strengthening communities. What most cities don't have is a liaison, or connection, between these artists and community agencies.

Who should use the Toolkit?
Anyone interested in the arts from artists interested in learning more about donating artwork in their community to arts administrators interested in learning about starting an art donation and placement program.

"The art is comforting, soothing. The first time our clients see me, they are very nervous. Having the art here brings the anxiety level down." Bob Donahue, intake coordinator, New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans
